"Molly" In May 2002 I met the Cambridge, MA artist Molly Van Nice whose work contained an elegant and absolutely wonderful hand done script. When I was unable to resist the habit of reading that writing I found that it made no sense whatsoever. In fact, Molly got a kick out of watching people view her work and pronounce that the lettering was "medieval Kryllic" or "early English". I talked with Molly and found out that she was planning on doing some work in Photoshop and wasn't sure how to do her script work digitally. I happily volunteered to help and scanned pages of hand done letters to turn her script into a functioning font. This is intended to be fun, not readable. Molly's script is meant to baffle and entertain in all of its manifestations. |

All Birt TV Promotional postcard for "All Bird TV", a show which ran on the Discovery Channel's Animal Planet. I had created the show's logo, 30 second opener (viewable in my video archive), titles and bumpers, so the production company approached me to create the promo card. All images provided by the production company were shot on video and the resolution was too low for use in print. I worked with a producer to get the basic look they wanted and then I reworked the images so that they would print out well. |

Integrated Computing Engines Ad campaign for a product intended to decrease render times in Adobe After Effects. The client wanted the branding to be green, to have the effect of dry ice, and to be very dark. I learned alot about doing knockouts and trapping, going to print with lots of four-color black, and how to talk a client off the ledge of what they think they want. Campaign included a series of magazine ads, brochures and a website. |
